Brady: Arsenal youngster had the world at his feet

Former Juventus and Sampdoria player Liam Brady has bemoaned the death of former Arsenal and Bologna defender Niccolo Galli at the age 17, saying he would have been a great player.

Galli was signed by the Gunners from Fiorentina in 1999 before he moved to Bologna on loan for the 2000-2001 season, whilst he was finishing his education. During his time at the Rossoblu, Galli sadly past away following a road accident.

“I always remember Nicholas, losing him so young was a real tragedy,” Brady, who was Arsenal’s head of youth development at the time, told Tuttomercatoweb.com.

“It was not the right thing. He was a nice guy who wasn’t selfish, he was always a good kid. He was a great footballing talent and had a great future ahead of him.

“He had maturity and intelligence on a football pitch. He was very good; he had everything, the ball control, passing ability and the physical attributes.”
