Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan is involved in a boat accident which according to reports has claimed the life of his musician friend, Castro in a sad event that occurred on Sunday in Ada.

The Black Stars captain was taking his friends numbering about 30 out on a usual boat cruise in Ada when the accident occurred on Sunday afternoon.

Gyan usually rents out a yacht to accommodate close family members and friends whenever he is in town for holidays.

GHANAsoccernet.com is however reliably informed that the said yacht was unavailable this time around as it had been sent out for repairs.

The group therefore resorted to using ski boats this term.

A leading Ghanaian musician Reggie Rockstone revealed that his frantic calls ton Castro were not answered.

"My fones blowing up bout Castro and I pray this is not true pple! Called him but no pick!," Rockstone tweeted in response to the several calls he has received over rumours of Castro's death.

Castro, an iconic Ghanaian hiplife musician and a close friend of Asamoah Gyan was said to have taken one of the boats out on a cruise on the Volta Lake alongside an unnamed female friend while the others continued with their relaxation at shore.

Hours later, the ski boat was said to have been found without both Castro and his female friend.

A mounted search which has lasted hours now is yet to yield any positive results.

Subsequent reports claim the dead body of Castro who has recorded hit songs with Asamoah Gyan in recent years has been found.

That of the unnamed female friend however remains at large.
