Baba Rahman on his way to Chelsea

Chelsea have reached an agreement with Augsburg to sign Ghana defender Baba Abdul Rahman for a â‚¬25m transfer fee, according to reports in Germany.

The English giants have been forced to improve their initial offer to sign the left-back who will be replacing Felipe Luis at Stamford Bridge.

Augsburg will be making a massive profit on the sale of the Ghana international after signing him for just â‚¬2.5m from Greuther Furth just last year.

They have been very reluctant to sell Rahman but Chelsea's improved offer was too good to refuse and now only what remains is for the top hierarchy at Chelsea to sign off on the deal, according to the Bild newspaper.

Jose Mourinho is convinced of the potential of Baba Rahman is is already being considered as a good back up for Cesar Azpilicueta.

But the left-back will certainly have plans of winning a regular place at Chelsea as he will be joining the side as one of the leading performers from the Bundesliga.

Rahman is rated the defender with the most crosses last season as Augsburg finished the season in an impressive 5th position in the German top flight.
