The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is set for the election of its president next week after an Accra Fast Track Court dismissed an injunction on the electoral process and slapped the plaintiff with $2,000 in costs.

The judge dismissed the case that was seeking to halt the GFA's elections in Tamale by ruling that John Quayson has no capacity to bring the case against the GFA's president Kwesi Nyantakyi.

The GFA's astute lawyer Thaddeus Sory effectively argued that he has no locus in football to call for the election to be halted insisting he is not a member of the Ghana Football Association.

The judge dismissed the case and slapped Lawyer Quayson with costs of Eight Thousand Ghana Cedis to be paid to the GFA.

John Kwame Quayson was partnering football club Dynamic Heroes of Winneba to stop the election from taking place.

Describing himself as a football administrator, legal practitioner, John Quayson, filed an ex-parte injunction application to halt all activities concerning the upcoming polls.

Lawyer Quayson was seeking an interpretation as to why the district level elections and the regional level elections wouldn’t be held before the main FA presidential elections?.
