Breaking News: COWARD Ayittey Powers pulls out of Bukom Banku clash citing God's command from TB Joshua
Ayittey Powers says God has ordered him not to fight Bukom Banku on 18 April

Ghanaian boxer Ayittey Powers has shockingly shown an act of extreme cowardice by pulling out of next month's much-awaited clash with Bukom Banku claiming controversial Nigerian pastor TB Joshua has asked to withdraw.

Powers, who visited the controversial Nigerian preacherman in Nigeria last week for prayers before he faces Banku, claims God has asked him not to fight on the much-advertised date of 18 April at the Accra Sports Stadium.

His decision comes just 24 hours after the tickets went on sale with a mad rush for the much-awaited non-title bout.

The decision will leave promoters Box Office Promotions out of pocket of about $1m, hugely damaging the potential of reviving boxing in the country after international broadcasters SuperSport signed on to carry the fight live.

But on the orders of TB Joshua, Powers said fighting on that day could be disastrous for him so he has been ordered by God through the controversial pastor.

"I will not fight Bukom Banku on the 18 April because God has ordered me through Man of God TB Joshua not to fight on that day," Powers told Asempa FM on Thursday morning.

“As for me I want to fight but if God says I cannot fight, I will not fight,” he added.

Powers, who signed a contract to fight on 18 April and took part payment, has not even informed the promoters of the fight who have spent millions in promoting the fight.

When asked if he ready to face the legal consequences of his actions having signed the contract to fight, Powers insists he has done nothing wrong to pull out.

He insists he is ready to refund the preparation money he has taken from the promoters of the fight.

The two loud-mouthed boxers have been engaging in media war over the past months and Box Office Promotions secured the signature of the two for a non-title fight.

Banku, 33, is undefeated in 26 fights with 20KOs while Powers has lost 23 times in 42 fights.
