The Ghana FA banned three top-flight clubs Asante Kotoko, Berekum Arsenal and Aduana Stars from playing their home matches at their home venues indefinitely.

The Executive Committee of the GFA took the decision on Wednesday to ban the three clubs from playing at home following acts of hooliganism by their fans.

The three clubs have been banned from their home venues until the Disciplinary Committee decides on their fate following the violent act of their clubs.

The decision will hurt Kotoko's chances of winning the league and has all but confirmed Berekum Arsenal relegation to the second tier after dodging relegation for the past four years.

The GFA ordered a temporary ban on Kotoko from using the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi as its home venue following their attack on Medeama during last week’s Premier League match.

The Kotoko fans threw objects at the match officials during and after the match which resulted in injury to assistant Referee A. S. Malik and damage to the Medeama bus.

Kotoko’s ban means that they will not be able to play in Kumasi but the stadium will continue to host the matches of King Faisal who are also Kumasi-based.

Similarly, Berekum Chelsea will continue to use the Golden City Park as their city rivals Berekum Arsenals have also been banned from using the stadium indefinitely.

Berekum Arsenal supporters physically assaulted of some Kotoko players, security personnel, cameraman of the GFA and the Assistant Referee resulting in serious injuries (See picture above).

The Yutong Bus of Asante Kotoko and the pick-up vehicle No. GP 3586, which belongs to Ghana Police Service, were also vandalized by supporters of Arsenals.

Aduana Stars were also banned from using the Nana Agyemang Badu Park following the physical assault of the referee in their match against Liberty Professionals over the weekend.
