Ghana has been handed a tough group at the 2015 Africa Youth Championship after they were drawn to face South Africa, Mali and Zambia in the group stage.

The Black Satellites will play the three countries noted for their excellent youth players at the tournament to be hosted by Senegal next year.

The draw has pit the Ghanaians in Group B alongside Zambia who are recent rivals of Ghana in any competition following a bitter 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign.

The African Under-20 Championship draw put Nigeria in Group A alongside hosts Senegal, Congo and Ivory Coast.

Ghana hosts South Africa in the opening match of the group on 9 March 2015 while Mali take on Zambia, both at the Caroline Faye Stadium.

Three days later at the same venue, South Africa will engage and Mali whilst Zambia battles the Black Satellites of Ghana in an epic clash.

The Black Satellites will end their group campaign on 15 March when Ghana face Mali in an-all West African affair at the Caroline Faye Stadium.

Southern African duo, South Africa and Zambia will cross swords at the Leopold Senghor Stadium on the same day and at the same time to finish the group phase.

The opening game of the 19th edition of the biennial championship will see hosts Senegal squaring Nigeria at the Leopold Senghor Stadium in Dakar on 8 March 2015 before Congo welcomes Ivory Coast later in the other game of the first day.

Three days on, Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will face Congo whilst hosts Senegal lock horns with Cote d’Ivoire in an-all Francophone affair, both at the Leopold Senghor Stadium.

On 14 March 2014, it will be Senegal versus Congo at the Leopold Senghor Stadium and Nigeria against Cote d’Ivoire at the Caroline Faye Stadium in Mbour, located along the coast of the West African country.

The semi-finalists will represent the continent at the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.

CAF General Secretary, Hicham El Amrani conducted the draw and was assisted by CAF Executive Committee member, Amadou Diakite, who doubles as President of the Organising Committee of the African U-20 Championship.

The final tournament will be held from 8-22 March 2015 in Senegal.

Senegal and Ghana were the seeded teams for the draw of the AYC which took place in Cairo, Egypt on Sunday morning.
