Hearts of Oak have confirmed the appointment of Herbert Addo as their new head coach, the club announced on Thursday.
The former Inter Allies coach has signed a two-year deal to lead the Phobians on his return to the club.
Addo was in-charge of Hearts for two seasons- he won the league in 2002 and but missed out the following season despite ending the campaign unbeaten.
The clubââ¬â¢s board of directors has also settled on ex-Ghana international Eddie Ansah as goalkeepersââ¬â¢ trainer.
ââ¬ÅThe Board of Directors of Accra Hearts of Oak has appointed Herbert Addo and Eddie Ansah as Head Coach and Goalkeepersââ¬â¢ Coach of the Club respectively,â⬠a club statement read.
ââ¬ÅThey are expected to begin work on Monday.ââ¬
The duo will join assistant coach Stephen Abugri and Team Manager Sabahn Quaye to complete their technical set-up.
Hearts of Oak board of directors has explained what caused the delay in naming a substantive coach to replace Mohammed Polo whose six-month contract was not renewed.
ââ¬ÅWe acknowledge the uneasiness among our supporters when the process of appointing the Head Coach seemed to delay,â⬠the statement added.
ââ¬ÅNonetheless, we believe it has been worth the wait, since the painstaking efforts of the Board have yielded a team of seasoned professionals who are expected to bring to the clubââ¬â¢s technical department the energy and efficiency required for the team to compete more creditably for honours in the coming seasons.ââ¬
