BREAKING NEWS: Hearts of Oak sack Portuguese coach Traguil, Yaw Preko named interim boss
Hearts of Oak's sack head coach Sergio Traquil

Struggling Ghanaian powerhouse Hearts of Oak have sacked coach Sérgio Traguil, just two months after his appointment, amid widespread believe the side's downward spiral has affected their fortunes of ending a long-wait for a Premier League crown, Ghanasoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The tough-talking Portuguese, who took over from Kenichi Yatsuhashi has flattered to deceive since he assumed the role eight weeks ago.

Assistant coach Yaw Preko has been handed the role in an interim capacity pending the appointment of a substantive trainer with just three games to end the season.

Hearts chances of winning their first Premier League title in seven years is fast fading as they lie fourth on the table, sixth points adrift of leaders Wa All Stars with only three games left to spare.

In a move which was hugely speculated in the local media, officials have opted to part ways with the trainer after he refused to revert to Auroras - the side's feeder club.

The unpopular decision to part ways with Japanese trainer Kenichi Yatsuhashi has backfired as the Portuguese struggled to endear himself to the club's demanding supporters.

GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal that the European tactician was asked to revert to the side's feeder club-Auroras, a move he considered massive demotion and disrespectful.

Hearts were dealt a massive sucker punch in their bid to win the Premier League crown after their 3-1 battering at Bechem United last Sunday.

The defeat effectively makes it absolutely difficult for the side to end their long wait for a crown as they will need to win their remaining three matches to stand any slim chance.

In the possible case scenario for the capital-based side, they will also need to hope other results go their way with Wa All Stars and Aduana Stars in pole position to clinch the ultimate diadem.

It's been frustrating, hellish and nightmarish for their teeming supporters, who have long held a believe of winning the league title after their explosive start.

But in what appears power-play and lack of foresight, the 2000 African champions have seen their potential title triumph slipped through their fingers.
