In-form Swansea star Andre Ayew is the latest to withdraw from the yet-to-be released Ghana squad for Wednesday’s friendly against Canada in Washington.

The winger is said to have suffered a knock during Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur at home in a game the former Marseille man scored his fourth goal of the season.

Ayew scored the opening goal and lasted the entire duration but felt pains after the match.

As a precautionary measure, the 25-year-old has decided to sit out the 13 October date to fully recover ahead of a busy schedule this season.

Ayew joins the growing list of injured Ghana players which includes captain Asamoah Gyan, Christian Atsu and Mohammed Rabiu.

The Injury to Ayew means either Jonathan Mensah or Emmanuel Agyemang Badu will skipper the side on the 13th.
