Goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey has been named in Ghana's starting line-up for the first time since January as he will be the shot-stopper for the Black Stars in their friendly against Turkey on Wednesday.

According to the Ghana FA report, the Norway-based goalkeeper will start ahead of regular Fatau Dauda and Razak Brimah in the match in Istanbul.

Also handed a rare start in the Ghana team is South Africa based defender Rashid Sumaila who will partner Jonathan Mensah at the heart of the defence.

Samuel Inkoom and Harrison Afful will play at the right and left side of the defence respectively while Rabiu Mohammed and Emmanuel Agyemang Badu will play in heart of the midfield.

Silky Solomon Asante and Christian Atsu will play at the right and left side of the midfield respectively while Mubarak Wakaso to play just behind striker Dominic Adiyiah.

Adiyiah will lead the attack for Ghana as captain Asamoah Gyan will start from the bench as promised by coach Kwesi Appiah.

Juventus Kwadwo Asamoah start from the bench at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium for the match which will kick off at 18:00GMT (9:00PM local time).

Kwarasey has not started for the Black Stars since losing his starting position to Dauda ahead of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.

His top form in the Norwegian top-flight has led to him being considered once again as the coach weighs his options in the team.

Sumaila has rarely started for Ghana but he also gets the chance to impress as the Black Stars prepare with this match to face Zambia in September.

Ghana line up Adam Kwarasey, Samuel Inkoom, Harrison Afful, Jonathan Mensah, Rashid Sumaila, Rabiu Mohammed, Solomon Asante, Agyemang Badu, Dominic Adiyiah, Mubarak Wakaso, Christian Atsu.

What do you make of the Ghana starting line-up? Do you think it is good for Kwesi Appiah to give the chance to others who don't see much action for the Black Stars? Make your views known in the box below:
