Elvis Manu has joined Brighton and Hove Albion

Brighton and Hove Albion boss Chris Hughton has hailed the qualities of Ghana attacker Elvis Manu who has joined his side on a three-year-contract from Feyenoord. 

The Seagulls beat off competition from Watford and Bayer Leverkusen to sign the 22-year-old former Dutch U21 international.

Manu, who netted a total of 14 goals in 37 outings in Eredivisie, the Champions League and Europa League, is expected to added to the qualities of the Premier League hopefuls and manager Hughton is delighted with the qualities of the attacker.

"We are really pleased to have brought in another offensive option and what Elvis will bring us is a different type of striker, and also a player who has played in the wide areas," he Albion's official website after the move.

"At 22 he is of a great age for further development and he comes to us with a very good pedigree, having come through the Feyenoord system - and he has represented Holland from under-16 to under-21 level."
