Bristol City winger Albert Adomah issues rallying call

Albert Adomah says Bristol City must reproduce their away form at Ashton Gate if they are to pull clear of relegation trouble in the npower Championship.

Of the 18 points the Robins have accrued so far this season, 10 of them have come on the road at Peterborough, Watford, Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday.

In contrast, they have taken just two points from eight games in BS3 since their last home win, a stunning 4-2 triumph over Cardiff way back in August.

In-form Derby County visit Ashton Gate this Saturday and winger Adomah, City’s match-winner at Sheffield Wednesday last weekend, insists it is high time he and his team-mates gave frustrated home fans something to cheer.

“We’ve shown we can win games and play well away from home, so there should be no reason why we cannot do the same thing at Ashton Gate,” declared the Ghana international.

“I think we’ve reacted badly to falling behind at home and let everybody down when losing 4-1 to Wolves the other week.

“But we showed real strength of character to twice come from behind and win 3-2 at Sheffield Wednesday and that game shows what can be done.

“There are no excuses and we have to be better when the pressure is on at Ashton Gate.

“If we fall behind, I would like to think we will be strong enough to come back like we did against Wednesday.

“Those fans who travelled all the way to Middlesbrough and Sheffield to us win were brilliant and I’m so glad we were able to make them happy.

“But not everyone can go to away games and we know we have to start doing the business at home if we are going to get the fans back on-side. If we can get our home form back, then I’m sure we’ll move up the table.”
