British High Commissioner to Jon Benjamin rues Stephen Appiah's inability to play for West Ham

The British High Commissioner to Ghana, Jon Benjamin has lauded the illustrious playing career of former Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah, but stated that he regrets the former Juventus player could not play for West Ham United before ending his career.

"Stephen is one of the few players who have had an exciting and productive playing career in Europe. His career however could have been complete if he had played for West Ham United in his hey days", Mr. Benjamin said.

In pursuit of playing a testimonial game to bring an end to his playing career, Appiah extended a formal invitation to the British High Commissioner and the excited Diplomat disclosed his long hidden affection for the Ghana Black Stars player.

Speaking to the gathering, Jon Benjamin said, "We are honoured to have received an invitation to be part of this memorable event.

"Every player has ups and downs but Stephen's career has recorded more ups. We at the British High Commission are honoured to have been invited and we wish to confirm our presence."

Stephen Appiah, will on June 27, lead a galaxy of Stars; Stephen Appiah XI in a testimonial match against the Black Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium.
