Burkina Faso Coach Paul Put is in Ghana to track the performance of Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Abdoulaye Soulama.

The 55-year-old Belgian who signed a three year contract to replace Paulo Duarte was in the stands when Kotoko beat relegation-threatened Bechem United 4-3 on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Put has handed a return call up to Soulama to the Stallions’ team for an exhibition match against Benin on May 16 and next month’s 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Congo and Gabon.

It is the first time in over three years the agile goalkeeper will join up with his national teammates after falling out with then Portuguese coach Paulo Duarte who was sacked after the team’s African Nations Cup failure earlier this year.

Soulama has been in consistent form this season, was however not in involved in Sunday’s game but met with Put alongside Kotoko acoach Maxwell Konadu after the match.

The 29-year-old is expected to leave for his homeland this week and will return after his national team assignments.
