Kennedy Agyepong did not want to serve on Kotoko board

Business mogul Kennedy Agyepong turned down an offer to serve on the Asante Kotoko board, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

The name of the astute businessman was conspicuously missing from the eight-member board announced by the owner and life Patron of the club Otumfuo Osei Tutu 11 on Monday.

Agyepong was heavily linked with a return to his boyhood club having served in that capacity during the Herbert Mensah era.

But he respectfully declined the offer after numerous overtures citing his tight business schedule as his chief reason.

The highly-respected businessman is unquestionably the biggest financial contributor to the Ghanaian powerhouse.

Despite declining to serve on the new Kotoko board, Mr Agyepong has promised to offer his financial contribution to the success of the club.
