CAF Confederation Cup: Hearts of Oak progress despite home reverse against Malian side AC Djoliba
Accra Hearts of Oak have progressed to the next stage of the CAF Confederation Cup

Ghanaian giants Accra Hearts of Oak have progressed to the final stages of the knock out round of the CAF Confederation Cup despite losing 1-0 against Malian side AC Djoliba on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Phobians advance on a 2-2 aggregate following their 2-1 triumph over Djoliba from the first-leg in Bamako a fortnight ago.

Djoliba claimed a late goal through full-back Cheiduba Ndiaye in the 84th minute but Hearts defended steadily with Vincent Atinga and Shaun October defending gallantly.

It was the first time the Herbert Addo's side have tasted defeated since the start of the campaign.

Hearts had to do without six four key players who missed the game with injuries and suspension as well as international duty.

Exciting youngster Isaac Mensah was dropped to the bench with Thomas Abbey taking his place in midfield.

Hearts will wait to find out their next opponents after the completion of the weekend games.
