Published on: 01 July 2016

Players of Medeama sporting club have rendered an unqualified apology to well wishers of the club after their goalless stalemate with MO Bejaia in CAF confederation cup.

The Tarkwa-based club who lost their opening fixture against TP Mazembe were expected to record a win and as a result get their campaign back on the right track.

But Medeama failed to win despite putting up a fantastic display plus creating an avalanche of glaring chances.

Captain of the side Muntari Tagoe describe the result as a sad one but added that he and his teammates are sorry for the poor start in the group phase of the competition

“It’s very sad because we played all the good football on the day and created the chances, but we just couldn’t bury any of them, an action that sees us with only a point after two games.”

“On behalf of the playing body, we want to apologize to the Club President for Wednesday’s disappointment. We know the investment he together with other Board members have put into the team to get us to this stage of the competition.”

“We the players pledge that we will surely make amends in the subsequent game so that we can qualify for the semifinal of the competition”

Medeama have a point after two games and sit third in Group A five points behind leaders TP Mazembe.
