A two-member CAF delegation has ended a week-long review of the implementation of the club licensing in Ghana.

Ahmed Haraz, CAF's Club Licensing Manager and Berhanu Kebebe a member of CAF Club Licensing Committee led the discussions with Ghana's club licensing management team, which included the the GFA's club licensing manager and members of the newly established Club Licensing Board.

The CAF delegation also met with representatives of Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko; two of Ghana's representatives in CAF's inter-club competition this year.

The discussions centered on ways to effectively implement the club licensing system in Ghana and how to overcome obstacles to the implementation, especially difficulties both clubs and the GFA face during the implementation process.

Ghana is one of three countries selected by CAF for the overview of the implementation of the Club Licensing System. The others are; Algeria and South Africa.

The Club Licensing System is aimed at injecting professionalism into the management of football clubs.

There are five key requirements clubs must meet in order to be licensed. They are administration, infrastructure, sporting, legal & personnel and finance.
