Cagliari boss Massimo Rastelli warns 'unfocused' Juventus target Godfred Donsah to step up

Cagliari boss Massimo Rastelli has warned young Ghana midfielder Godfred Donsah to step or risk being rotten on the bench.

The 19-year-old was dropped as the Seria B side posted a comprehensive 5-0 win over Entella in the Coppa Italia over lack of focus.

Manager Rastelli says the Ghana Under-20 midfielder is getting carried away by repeated interest shown by Juventus and Chelsea.

The youngster is operating at a slow pace this term following concerns the growing interest from some of Europe’s elite clubs are taking a toll on him.

And he has been warned to step up to the plate.

“Godfred is not at his best at the moment," he said.

"When he trains as I want I will review his position in the team and he is aware of this.”

Donsah, hugely regarded as carbon-copy of Michael Essien, rode into prominence after a fabulous season with the relegated Italian side last term.

He featured for Ghana at the 2015 World Youth Championship where he failed to impress by his standard.
