Cagliari president insists Ghana youngster Godfred Donsah will extend his contract with the club despite mounting interests from Juventus and Chelsea.

The 18-year-old has attracted interest from some of Europe’s elite clubs with Juventus and Chelsea believed to be hugely interested.

The Cagliari chief has held separate meetings with officials of Juve and Chelsea but nothing concrete has been sealed.

"Donsah? I had a chat with Juventus and Chelsea a few weeks ago and I’m amazed at all these rumors about him,” he told the media on Tuesday

“The boy must grow with us. We have many other players with a low salary and the contracts will be renewed at the right time, including that of Donsah.

“We have received a request for a meeting with a lawyer, but I’m used to doing this: just the time we will be happy to renew his contract."

It was reported last month that the club rejected an offer of €6million for the talented Ghana youth midfielder.

Donsah’s stock rose after scoring two goals and provided one assist in 21 Serie A games for Cagliari last season.

Regarded as carbob-copy of Michael Essien, Donsah has been in Italy since January 2012 playing for Palermo, Hellas Verona and was bought by Cagliari for €2.5m in July 2014.
