AshantiGold captain Daniel Asamoah has announced his exit from the club after 13 years of services.

The versatile player had one year left on his contract but decided to opt out to seek a fresh challenge elsewhere.

Asamoah came through the club’s academy and has been with the senior team for eight years.

He claims he has two offers from foreign clubs but ready to sign for a local club which meet his demands.

“I started with Ashgold at a tender age at the club’s academy, played for the youth team for four years before I got promoted to the senior team and have so far played 10 years, rising to become the captain and leading the team to Africa on two occasions,” Asamoah told Graphic Sports.

“Now I think it’s time to change environment so together with AshGold, we have agreed mutually to part ways and whatever is due me has been settled making me free to join any club of my choice.”

Asamoah is a defensive midfielder but can easily play in all positions at the back and midfield.
