Cardiff City insider Terry Phillips has rated Ghana winger Quincy Owusu-Abeyie among the club's worst signing in the past five seasons after the former Arsenal man spent just half season at the club.

The 28-year-old had a trial at Spurs, but then joined Cardiff on loan from Spartak Moscow with an option for a full contract. Made his debut when he replaced Chris Burke in a 0–0 draw against QPR, but moved on after four substitute appearances.

Quincy had earlier had an explosive season in England with Birmingham City and joined Cardiff with high hopes but things went the bad way as he headed for the exit after the end of the season failing to achieve his aims of joining the club.

He reversed to Spartak Moscow after end of that season but joined Portsmouth where he achieved a considerable amount of success before heading to Spain where he dazzled for Malaga and to Qatari side Al Sadd and then to Greece for Panathinaikos on loan before making his stay permanent.

But his last season with Panathinaikos proved disastrous as his relationship with his manager broke down and he left in search of a new club but then again failing on trials at Spanish side Real Valladolid.
