Medeama Executive Vice-president Commey Insists Club Won’t Make Any New Signings

Albert Commey insists Medeama won't make new signings

Medeama Executive vice-president Albert Commey insists the side will not make any new signings in the transfer window.

The Mauves and Yellows have been dislodged from the summit of the table after going 2-0 at Aduana Stars last Sunday.

The team has been blighted by injuries to key members of the squad including Hans Kwoffie, Larbi Koomson and goalkeeper Joseph Halm.

It was widely believed coach Bashir Hayford was going to add som fresh limps to the squad ahead of the second round of the league.

But the club’s Executive vice-president has ruled out bringing in new players.

“We’re not going to make any new signings. We have a solid team but for the injury situation we have on our hands,” Commey told Accra-based Peace FM

“It doesn’t look like the coach is keen on buying new players. We’ll support him in any decision that he takes.

“But I don’t think we’ll buy new players.

Medeama will host Berekum Arsenals at home before the festive period.

Medeama Midfielder Koomson Recovering Well From Injury

Daniel Larbi Koomson is recovering well from an injury

Medeama midfielder Daniel Larbi Koomson is recovering well at home after breaking his knee during a Premier League game against Ebusua Dwarfs last month.

The impressive enforcer is healing well after undergoing an operation at the Ridge hospital to correct the problem.

Koomson suffered the injury following an innocuous challenge on Kotoko defender Kwabena Edusei and was later rushed to the hospital in the capital.

The player says he is responding to treatment and hopes to recover sooner than expected to play his part in the team’s quest to win the Premier League crown.

“This season I was hoping to have an injury-free season to help the team but unfortunately I got injured,” Koomson said

“But all the same I’m in high spirit and hope to rejoin my colleagues soon.

“I wish them all the best in the game against Liberty on Sunday.”

Medeama Chief Wants Immediate Response Against Liberty

Medeama CEO Esilfi wants an instant response against Liberty

Medeama Chief Executive James Esilfi wants an instant response against Liberty Professionals after their impressive start to the Premier League was breached by Kotoko .

The Mauves and Yellows lost 1-0 at the Tarkwa and Aboso Park to the defending champions, ending their five match unbeaten run in the top-flight this term.

The club’s chief wants the players to redirect their focus on the game in Accra and quickly put the past behind them.

“We have 30 matches to play and so I don’t see the reason why we must continue to think about the defeat to Kotoko,” Esilifi told medeamasc.com

“Management is willing to do whatever we can to win the league, so supporters should exercise patience and stop  peddling allegations of  bribery against individuals.”

The Tarkwa-based side managed to sniff a point off Liberty at the Sly Tetteh Park last season.
