Harrison Afful got controversially sent off as his MLS side Columbus Crew’s 1-1 drew with DC United at home on Sunday.
The right-back went in for a sliding challenge on Marcelo Sarvas with his studs showing.
Although he had the ball, referee Silviu Petrescu thought it was a danger tackle and pulled out a red card from his pocket in the 74th minute.
His dismissal allowed DC United to fight back to snatch the equalizer.
