Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso has announced his excitement at completing a year-long loan move to Scottish giants Celtic.

The 24-year-old has moved from Russian Premier League side Rubin Kazan and has the option to make his move permanent after the expiration of the deal.

Wakaso has been itching to leave Eastern Europe after only a season there where he made only 14 appearances and scored two goals.

After sealing his switch on Wednesday, he posted on his Twitter page: “Happy to have signed on loan at Celtic for the season. Can’t wait to get started with the Hoops.”

Wakaso has previously played for Spanish top-flight sides Villarreal and Espanyol.
