Chief Executive Kudjoe Fianoo has dismissed reports linking Italian trainer Guisseppe Dossena to the vacant coaching job at AshantiGold.

The Miners are yet to appoint a substantive coach since the sacking of Zdravko Lugarusic at the tail end of last year.

And though ex Ghana international Yaw Acheampong had led the side through a phenomenal run in the second round of the Premier League, he is yet to be confirmed by the club giving credence to the speculations in the local media.

But Fianoo insists no moves will be made with respect to the coaching post until the end of the current campaign.

"The job has been vacant for a while so it is only normal for some coaches to express interest but I can confirm Dossena has not made an approach," he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

"The board is yet to meet so I really don't know where the speculations over Dossena is coming from.

"The club for now is only looking at revamping the youth side and we are considering bringing an expatriate coach for that but not fir the head coaching job."

Dossena was coach of the Ghana national team, the Black Stars for a two year period – between 1998-2000.
