Asante Kotoko with most nominations for this year's FA Cup awards

Asante Kotoko dominate the list of nominees released for this year’s MTN FA Cup awards following their success in the competition.

The Porcupine Warriors lead the pack with five nominations as a reward for their long overdue success in the knockout competition.

The Premier League champions beat Inter Allies in the finals of this year’s competition to record their first ever double.

Bechem United’s Augustine Okrah is however the overwhelming favourite to win this year’s Best Player award in the annual MTN FA Cup awards ceremony.

The skillful forward looks to complete a clean sweep of personal awards this season having emerged as the Most Valuable Player in the Ghana Premier League.

Okrah will however need to offset stiff challenges from Asante Kotoko duo Abeiku Ainooson and Issa Yakubu and Gold Stars’ Elvis Opoku to clinch the prestigious award.

Kotoko defender Abeiku Ainooson was also named in the Best Defender category where he will be facing the likes of Inter Allies’ Joseph Aidoo, Lassana Coulibaly of Feyenoord and Aduana Stars’ Emmanuel Akuoko.

The champions will be handed an award for being the highest scoring team while Joseph Addo guns for the Best Goalkeeper award against Theophilus Jackson of Feyenoord, New Edubiase’s Benjamin Mensah and Inter Allies’ Osei Kwame.

Coach Mas-Ud Dramani has also been named in the Best Coach category where he is being challenged by Herbert Addo, John Kila and Prince Acheampong.
