CHAN QUALIFIERS: Maxwell Konadu axes five from squad

Local Black Stars head coach Maxwell Konadu has dropped five players from the squad that commenced camping on September 20 in Obuasi ahead of a 4th African Nations Championship (CHAN) final qualifying fixture against Ivory Coast next month.

Striker of newly promoted premier league club Ebusua Dwarfs, Bright Lukeman could not make the mark to impress the Black Stars assistant coach as well as goalkeeper Osei Kwame of Inter Allies, Daniel Appiah (Great Olympics), Isaac Acheampong (Hasaacas) and Dauda Mohammed (Kotoko).

The first leg tie of the qualifier will be played in Ghana on October 18 with the return leg scheduled for Abidjan two weeks later.

Former Asante Kotoko head coach, Mas-ud Didi Dramani is expected to as Maxwell Konadu joins the senior Black Stars team this week for the Peru and Canada on October 9 and 13 in America.
