Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is hoping that long term absentee Baba Rahman will be fit before the end of the year.

The left-back has been battling with a knee injury that has kept him out of action since January 2017.

Rahman signed for the Blues for 20.5 million pounds but struggled to impose himself in the starting team in that famous Mourinho season that everything went bad.

A loan move to Schalke proved a wise decision but the enjoyment was cut sho as a knee injury struck halfway through the year while on international duty.

There were initial hopes that he could be back in time for the start of the season but that has proved unsuccessful with two months into the new season.

“We are hoping that he would be back before the year ends,” Antonio said while addressing the media

“He is an option and we are shot of men but we have to take it carefully because his situation was complicated.”

Chelsea has struggled recently with Moratta, Kante, Drinkwater and Victor Moses all facing their individual fitness issues. The London-based side will take on Watford in the English Premier League this weekend.
