Ghana international defender Baba Rahman was delighted to earn a debut win on his first start for Chelsea but insists coach Jose Mourinho is the man judge whether he performed well in the game.

The summer signing made his first appearance for the club in Wednesday's Champions League clash with Maccabi Tel Aviv.

He started at left-back with Cesar Azpilicueta switching flanks to replace Branislav Ivanovic at right-back.

Baba is steering clear on the judgement on his performance on the day insisting coach Mourinho will have the final say.

"It was great," the Ghana defender said when asked about his debut.

"The supporters and the stadium were very nice.

"The team played good and the most important thing was the win and that's what we did.

"I think I can adapt more but I leave it up to the coach to judge my performance."

The Ghanaian is likely to play when Chelsea take on Arsenal this weekend.
