Berekum Chelsea prevailed 7-6 in a thrilling penalty shoot-out to claim the 2011 President's Cup against Asante Kotoko in Accra on Friday.

The Ghana league champions completed three back-to-back victories to seal their second title of the season.

The game which was not short of drama and entertainment ended 2-2 in regulation time.

The match headed straight to the shoot-outs in conformity with the regulations of the one-off game meant to mark Ghana's 51st Republic Day anniversary.

Goals from Chelsea's new import Gladson Awako and striker Bismark Idan on 23 and 38 minutes respectively.

The goals were wiped out by Kotoko's Alex Asamoah and substitute Fatawu Mohammed in the 19th and 60th minute respectively.

Referee Mohammed Awal who has had a fine game throughout regulation time, all of a sudden became the ultimate villain at least to the Kotoko fans during the shoot-outs.

Twice, the referee ordered a retake of Chelsea's missed kicks to the displeasure of players, technical team, management and supporters of the Porcupine Warriors present.

The act even provoked a mini boycott by the Kotoko players who were headed for the dressing room but was immediately averted with the intervention of organisers and dignitaries including Ghana FA President Kwasi Nyantakyi.
