Baba Abdul Rahman is reportedly keen on a move to Chelsea

Chelsea look set to abandon their plans of signing Ghana defender Baba Abdul Rahman as they weigh up a move for Galatasaray’s Alex Telles.

The English champions are unwilling to top up an initial offer to make the £15m asking price of Augsburg to sign Rahman.

Chelsea are looking to sign a replacement for Felipe Luis who has departed to rejoin his former club Atletico Madrid.

But Augsburg’s demands for the Ghana international appear exorbitant for the Blues – forcing them into looking at alternatives.

Contact has thus been made with Galatasaray to sign the Brazilian who holds an Italian passport instead.

Telles will reportedly cost Chelsea £8m which is seen as a good bargain instead of the £15m being demanded by Augsburg for Baba Rahman.
