Ghana defender Baba Rahman will return to the Chelsea starting line-up on Wednesday in their Capital One Cup tie at Walsall, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The right-back was axed for the huge clash with bitter London rivals Arsenal on Saturday which sent disappointing signals for Ghana fans.

The comes after the new signing played in their Champions League side last week - in a clear sign that his regular playing time at Stamford Bridge was near.

However he was left out of the entire squad for the match against Arsenal as Jose Mourinho wants Baba's careful introduction into the Chelsea squad.

Mourinho all but confirmed that Baba will play against the League One Saddlers on Wednesday, when he is likely to make wholesale changes and use fringe squad players, as the Blues begin their defence of the trophy they won in March.
