Chicago Fire coach Frank Yallop has confirmed the snub of striker David Accam for Ghana’s opening 2017 AFCON qualifier against Mauritius.

Invitations to clubs must have been sent by now for players who are expected to be part of the Black Stars team for the June 14 clash expected to be played in Accra.

Even before the official squad for the game is released, some clubs have already started confirming the participation of their players in international games through the receipt of official notice from the GFA.

But Chicago Fire coach Frank Yallop says he is yet to receive such an official notice for the release of David Accam – meaning the former Helsingborg man has been overlooked this term by Black Stars coach Avram Grant.

“We’ve heard nothing from Ghana officially,” Yallop confirmed.

“I guess that’s a no, unless they decide to send him [a late invite].”

Accam was withdrawn early in the weekend’s 3-0 win over Montreal Impact with suspicion of sustaining a hamstring injury.

But the young striker has since returned to training and is expected to play in Wednesday’s league match away to DC United.
