Chicago Fire reject Hannover 96 offer for David Accam, Ghana striker staying put

Major Soccer League side Chicago Fire have officially turned down an attractive offer from Hannover 96 for Ghana striker David Accam, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

The 26-year-old was on the brink of joining the German side after both clubs and the player reached an agreement.

However, the deal hinged on the MLS side finding a suitable replacement in a short amount of time.

And when it became apparent reaching a deal with  target Juan Quintero from FC Porto was too far to bridge, the club turned down the request.

Accam has decided to stay put at the club with an improved offer with his salary expected to skyrocket next season.
