Chicago Fire striker David Accam has revealed he moved to the MLS because of the challenge and not because of financial gains.

Accam made a shock move to North America after an explosive season with Swedish side Helsingborg IF.

His 17 goals in 25 appearances linked him to stellar European clubs but chose to sign for Chicago Fire.

Accam has revealed his new employers proved they wanted him more than the other suitors.

"It was a difficult decision for me," Accam told FootMercato.

"I had many offers, but for me, the reason why I decided to go to MLS was because that was where I was shown the most interest and respect.

"I didn’t go there for money, or because they offered the most expensive proposal. Chicago were the most enthusiastic about my signing."
