Chievo Verona are close to reaching a deal with Genoa to turn Ghana midfielder Isaac Cofie's loan deal into a permanent contract.
The 21-year-old joined Chievo at the start of last season from Genoa and overly impressed helping the club to finish 12th in the Serie A.
Cofie racked a total of 27 appearances and scored twice from a defensive midfield role.
His performance against giants AS Roma and AC Milan have convinced Chievo boss Eugenio Corini and the club is yet to reach a permanent deal for him.
Reports in Italy suggest Roma are also interested in landing the former Ghana U20 midfielder.
Cofie has been rewarded for his impressive showing in the Serie A as he had been handed his second Ghana call for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Sudan and Lesotho.
