CHILE win COPA AMERICA at penalties over ARGENTINA

Chile win the Copa America at penalty shoot outs over Argentina and are the Copa America champions for the second time in a row.

The story was the same of last year, where the two teams faced themselves in the final as well: in that occasion Chile won 4-1 at penalties and Messi scored the only penalty for his national team, but this time La Pulga missed the first penalty and the Chileans won 4-2, the decisive penalty was scored by Francisco Silva.

The match was nervous and with no many goal chances: the biggest one was for Gonzalo Higuain, whose shot in first half was wide. The tension provoked also two red cards: Chile's Marcelo Diaz was sent off at 28' for a double booking, while Manchester United and Argetina defender Marcos Rojo got a direct red card at 43'.

Messi announced he is retiring from internationa football: "I tried to win with Argentina with all my efforts, but I didn't succeed. I played four finals, it wasn't enough, this is the end," he claimed.
