Midfielder Christian Atsu has played down Vitesse Arnhem’s bid to win the Dutch Eredivisie title this season.

FC Hollywood on the Rhine are fourth on the table and seven points behind leaders Ajax Amsterdam who have played one match less.

The Ghana winger, on-loan at the GelreDome from English Premier League side Chelsea, believes their title challenge looks over with seven matches to the end of the season.

“I think it will be very difficult to win the title. Ajax are a good team and it is difficult to see them lose, Atsu told Goal Ghana.

“We are in the 4th position, and we will work hard to finish in a good position.

"The Dutch league is a very good competition, and the best place for young players because they like using young players here.”

Atsu has made 21 appearances and scored four goals.
