Manchester City extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to nine points as they dispatched Leicester 2-0 to continue their excellent start to the season.

Gabriel Jesus had Pep Guardiola's side ahead at the break after a keenly fought first-half.

The Brazil international scored in the 45th minute from Kevin De Bruyne's cross.

De Bruyne added a second early in the second-half as City turned defence into attack in spectacular fashion to win a 10th successive game in the league

Arsenal proved they are still a force to be reckoned with by blowing away Tottenham in a pulsating north London derby.

Goals from Shkodran Mustafi and Alexis Sanchez secured the Gunners a dominant 2-0 victory at the Emirates Stadium. The result means Arsenal move just one point behind Tottenham.

There was a hint of fortune about each of Arsenal's first-half goals. Mustafi's header came after referee Mike Dean had awarded a dubious free-kick for a foul on Sanchez while Alexandre Lacazette was just offside in the build-up to their second.

But few could argue with the result as Arsene Wenger's side beat Tottenham at their own game, showing themselves faster, stronger and hungrier than their opponents in every department.

Chelsea cruised to a comfortable 4-0 victory against West Bromwich Albion and piled the pressure on Tony Pulis.

Alvaro Morata put Chelsea in front on 17 minutes, firing home after Ben Foster had been unable to hold onto Eden Hazard's shot. Morata returned the favour six minutes later, playing Hazard through and allowing him to round Foster and double Chelsea's lead.

Marcos Alonso added a third on 38 minutes, volleying home a Cesc Fabregas free kick at the back post, and Hazard grabbed his second of the game shortly after the hour mark to add to West Brom's misery.

Two goals from Mohamed Salah saw Liverpool brush Southampton aside to win 3-0 at Anfield.

The Egypt international scored in the 31st and 41st minutes to take the lead in the Premier League scoring charts.

The prematch focus had been on Sadio Mane's return to the team but Salah took centre stage with a 25-yard effort to open the scoring, before slotting a second from a Philippe Coutinho through-ball.

Coutinho got in on the scoring act himself after the break scoring from a rebound when Foster was unable to hold Roberto Firmino's shot.

Everton twice came from behind to earn a point in a close-fought 2-2 draw against fellow strugglers Crystal Palace.

James McArthur put Palace ahead in the opening minute but Leighton Baines equalised for Everton from the penalty spot on six minutes.

Wilfried Zaha restored Palace's lead on 35 minutes before Oumar Niasse -- who had won the penalty for Everton's opening goal -- had them level in first-half stoppage time.

Bournemouth continued their recent resurgence with a third win in four Premier League games to climb the table.

Callum Wilson scored a hat trick as Eddie Howe's side strolled to a 4-0 victory against Huddersfield, despite being down to 10-men for the second half.

Wilson netted twice in four first-half minutes to put Bournemouth in control against their newly promoted opponents.

Simon Francis' dismissal in first-half stoppage time left Huddersfield with a numerical advantage, but Bournemouth held their superiority and Harry Arter added a third goal in the 70th minute before Wilson completed his treble late on.

Burnley made light work of struggling Swansea to win 2-0 and keep themselves in seventh place in the Premier League.

That defeat, an eighth of the season, leaves Swansea in 19th place.

Jack Cork headed Burnley ahead on 29 minutes from a flowing move.

And Ashley Barnes made sure of the points with an effort from 20 yards out that left Lukasz Fabianski
