Coach CK Akunnor has admitted Hearts are interested in striker Yakubu Mohammed but denies agreeing  a fee for his services.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a move to the capital-based club after he quit Ashantigold following the expiration of his contract.

While the former Ghana captain has revealed his interest in the forward, he has denied that both parties have come to an agreement over the sale of the former Real Sportive goal machine.

“We have bought some new players but Yakubu Mohammed is not on board at the moment,” Akunnor said

“Of course he is a good player but I don’t know what the situation is. I am sure by the close of the week; we should be able make the full list available.”

The ex-Heart of Lions attacker netted 18 times to emerge last season’s second top scorer in the Ghana Premier League.

Mohammed is stocky, extremely strong and and has the ability to create chances and known for scoring some spectacular goals including free kicks, over-head-kicks and stunning volleys.

He also possesses an impressive leaping power, which makes it difficult to handle him in the air.
