CK Akunnor sacked as Hearts of Oak coach

Hearts of Oak have terminated the contract of head coach CK Akunnor, MTNFootball.com can exclusively reveal.

The ex-Ghana captain's fate was decided after a board of directors meeting at the club's secretariat on Wednesday.

Akunnor's job was on the line after losing three league matches in a row in the five-week old Ghana Premier League.

He also recorded one win and draw to leave the club in 13th place on the log sheet.

"Management decided to relieve him of his post because some players have ganged up against him and that was affecting the club," a source told MTNFootball.com

Akunnor was appointed in March this year after the club's severed ties with Serbian coach Nebojsa Vucicevic.

Hearts have lined up David Duncan, JE Sarpong and Maxwell Konadu, who won the league with Kotoko last season, as his replacement.
