Belgian giants Club Brugge have intensified their pursuit of Ghana winger Nana Opoku Ampomah.

Ampomah, 24, wants to seek a new challenge elsewhere after his struggles at relegated German Bundesliga side German side Fortuna Dusseldorf.

The wideman's former manager at Waasland Beveren Philippe Clement is interested in reuniting with the 24-year old at Club Brugge.

Phillipe Clement tried signing the player when he moved to RC Genk, but a last minute collapse saw the play stay at Waasland.

The 46-year old manager wants the Ghanaian as replacement for the departing Kreppin Diatta and Emmanuel Dennis.

"He is interested in returning to Belgium and Club Brugge is quite serious," a source close to the player is quoted by Ghana Guardian

"The original plan was to have a good season at Düsseldorf and then move to a larger club in Germany or England. But that plan did not work and Belgium would be ideal for a restart. It is well-known territory for Nana and Club has been following him since his time at Waasland-Beveren."

The Ghana international made just 12 appearances for Fortuna Dusseldorf.
