CK Akunnor has issued a rallying call to everyone associated with Hearts of Oak, urging players and fans alike that it is time to focus on the future.

The capital-based side ended the season without a trophy after they were bundled out of the MTN FA cup by Ashantigold over the weekend.

They also lost out on the Premier League crown to sworn rivals Asante Kotoko.

The ex-international has made clear his intention to make signings ahead of the start of next season and he wants Â the club’s stakeholders to quickly forget about the past and forge ahead.

“The future looks bright. If you look at the way we played against AshantiGold and Arsenal, I think we have improved a lot,” Akunnor told Radio XYZ

“I am happy with the performance. I am happy with the way they played. I am also happy with the fighting spirit. They likes of Ollenu who has been a revelation and Copson as well.

“We have picked some good things this season, believing that in the coming season, a little bit of adding new faces, it would enhance the quality of our game and then we’ll improve and be better.

“To be honest with you, we’ll change the team but it’s not going to be like scratching everybody off. We can’t do that.

“We need some of the players because they have experienced in the team, have experience in the League.

“We will bring in new faces to help us improve the quality of our game. I think with a little bit of support, we’ll do well next season,”
