Coach E.K Afranie wants Black Stars job

Emmanuel Kwasi Afranie joins fray interested in Black Stars job

By Ameenu Shardow

Veteran Emmanuel Kwasi Afranie is the latest to express interest in the Black Stars coaching job.

The Ghana FA are currently head hunting for a replacement of Serbian Goran Stevanovic who was laid off following his inability to lead the team to Nations Cup glory in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

Ex France captain Marcel Desailly is widely reported to be the preferred choice but Afranie who has coached Ghana at all levels in the past says it is high time the Ghana FA returned to the basics by employing indigenous tacticians with the right credentials for the senior national team.

“People always talk about recycling but the truth of the matter is that we are good enough to coach the Black Stars,” he said.

“I am currently working with the unearthing and polishing of talents which in coaching is the most difficult so why can’t I coach the Black Stars.

“In any case most of the players in the Black Stars now have passed through my hands so where is the difficulty?”

Aside haven managed all of Ghana’s national teams, Afranie has also had stints with virtually all club sides in the country.

Hhahahahhahahahahs……………Afranie for black stars?….OH MY GOD ”AS3M B3BA DABI”.No local coach can handle the black stars, to me.We say ghana is power house in world football so why can’t we go for high profile coaches like: jose, bernitaz,Gardioula,…….and stop these brainless pig skin coaches from serbia.Football now is business and we need to invest….we can do it.NO LOCAL COACH…AND MARCEL, THEY WON’T TAKE US ANY WHERE.

  2. SIMON BAADGHD says:

AFRANIE, YOU ARE A VERY GOOD COACH BUT FOR THAT LITTLE PROBLEM OF YOU OVER LOVING MONEY MORE THAN YOUR JOB. THE PAST IS THERE TO REMIND US ALL HOW THERE WAS A LOT OF TALK OF HOW YOU HANDLED PLAYERS ????????????????

  3. Tsintsinga Lapaz says:

Apart frm Borborr, no other local coach not even a hybrid like Desailly can coach the BS successfully.Apuuuuutooor

  4. b4world says:

When will Ghana develop?, when will ghana move forward?
Afranie was a coach when I was a baby in Ghana. Where is Osam Doudo?
Poor Ghana other nations are moving forward…why..why.why

  6. Ajax says:

We don’t want any coach for black stars.Amen

  7. JNR says:

Well, i will rather have him than Desailly ANY DAY! At least he has the credentials of a coach to handle the Black stars, yep you noticed the keyword “CREDENTIALS”? which Desailly lacks and it’s too much of a risk letting him take over.

    • Boba Fett says:

but the hard truth is that CREDENTIALS do not necessarily make one a good coach.

    • Johnny says:

Listen, having done it before does not mean you are good at it; also, not having done it before does not mean you won’t be good at it when you start doing it.

What is your beef with Dessaily? So tell me, does the world end if Dessaily is hired and he does not live up to expectation? Has that happened before, even with the so called those with “CREDENTIALS”? You said yoy live in England so you might know how many Chelsea coaches have come and gone in the past few years, right? Chelsea is still Chelsea, and life goes on.

You would rather go for a proven failure and a bribe taker than Dessaily who has the potential to be successful? Your line of thought is baffling!

  8. Kwadwo Addai says:

    Aaaaaaaaaaba !

  9. real sabacious says:

    Apuuu!who doesnt know u afranie?bribe taker!!

  10. obele says:

  11. banku bodorr says:

  12. GFA CANT MESS WITH GHANAIANS. says:

@ Seth, I agree with you. Afranie is a good coach but this one de3, don’t venture. You can’t handle the black stars to be honest. This is not a class one team to coach plz. Leave it for us.
