Coach Yaw Acheampong faces the sack at AshGold

Yaw Acheampong will be released as head coach of AshantiGold, MTNFootball.com understands.

Reports from the Len Clay Stadium say some club officials are not satisfied with his tactical approach to games and are prepared to axe him.

With Chief Executive Kudjoe Fianoo set to leave the club, his successor is likely to get rid of the former Real Sociedad player.

The ex-international has been in-charge as a stop-gap coach after Croat Zdravko Lugarosic was told to step aside last year.

Acheampong led the club to a second place finish in the Ghana Premier League last season.

On Sunday, he missed out on winning the Ghana FA Cup for the club for the first time since 1993 when he was captain of the side.

The Miners lost 1-0 to New Edubiase United at the Accra Sports Stadium.
