Former Hearts of Oak coach Yusif Abubakar has agreed a short-term deal to join Ghana Premier League side Bechem Chelsea in a care-taker role.

Abubakar was recommended by substantive coach Steve Pollack due to the latter's deteriorating health.

The former Gamba All Black coach will be in charge of the club when the league kick-starts on 05  September.

"Yes it is true and I’ve almost concluded negotiations with Bechem Chelsea to take over as the interim coach following recommendations by Coach Steve Pollack," Abubakar confirmed to Asempa FM

"I will not be quick or be in a hurry to talk about my long term future with the club. It was someone who recommended me and so technically when he is fully fit, he will come back as the head coach and so don’t want to be drawn on any future plans yet."

Abubakar was sacked as Hearts coach last season with one match left to play for what the club termed as technical incompetence.
