Coaches have applied for AshGold job- CEO

AshantiGold Chief Executive Kudjoe Fianoo claims quite a number of local and expatriate coaches have applied for the coaching job at the club.

The fortunes of the club have improved swiftly under Yaw Acheampong, who was promoted as an assistant coach following the dismissal of Croat Zdravko Logarusic. .

AshGold have leapt on the league table after three successive victories in the second half of the league.

the club’s CEO claims that has made the team attractive to quite a number of coaches.

"We have received a lot of offers from many coaches and we'll table it before the board when they meet to decide on the future," Fianoo said.

"The applications have come from both local coaches and foreigners but at the moment we want to avoid relegation first and then we take it from there.

"I believe Yaw Acheampong and his assistants have done well so far since they took charge and we need to encourage them to help us.

"We don’t want the interest of others to serve as a distraction. We make an official decision on him (Yaw Acheampong) at the end of the season."

The Miners lie in mid-table with 26 points from 18 games.
