Coleman: Lay off Arsenal star Ramsey. He’s one of the best…

Wales boss Chris Coleman believes Aaron Ramsey gets a raw deal from Arsenal fans.

The 26-year-old midfielder is often slated by sections of the Gunners faithful whenever things begin to go awry.

While often injured, Ramsey possesses an enormous amount of quality which has led Coleman to suggest he is one of the best players he has ever worked with.

“Since he moved from Cardiff to Arsenal he's had one or two people quickly jumping on the bandwagon to criticise him," Coleman told The Sun.

“He's an easy target and he's had one or two criticising him but he's a great player."

Speaking at the world film premiere of 'Don't Take Me Home' about Wales' surprise run to the Euro2016 semi-finals in France, Coleman felt Ramsey's absence may have massively hindered the Dragons in their final four clash with eventual champions Portugal.

“I'll always wonder [what would have happened] had we had him for the semi-final," he added.

“I know how good he is and how good he was in the tournament. Under that type of pressure against that type of opposition he was absolutely magnificent.

“He's one of the best players I've ever worked with — and I've worked with some good ones.

“When you take that type of quality out of any team then you are going to feel it.

“We definitely need him if we are going to do what we did before."
